The GTP Glossary Page

If I mention a term or acronym on the podcast that you aren’t familiar with, send me an e-mail and I will post a definition. If possible, I will include a link to an example of what the term is.

CMS - Tech-speak for Content Management System. A CMS can be in the form of a blog or a wiki or any other technology that allows you to store, index and retrieve your data.

OS - Tech-speak for Operating System. A computer’s operating system is the software that helps manage a computer’s hardware, as well as control access to the hardware from other software applications. A more complete definition is available here.

PDF - Acronym for Adobe’s Portable Document Format PDF files are read using Adobe’s free Acrobat Reader software. The main advantage of the PDF file format is that it can be read on most operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux). For a more technical definition, check the PDF entry in the Webopedia here.
